The King of Korean BBQ!

Introduction Bulgogi is one of the most famous Korean dishes worldwide. It consists of thinly sliced beef marinated in a sweet and savory sauce made from soy sauce, sugar, and Korean pear. It is usually grilled to perfection, creating a smoky, caramelized flavor that is loved by people of all ages.

Ingredients

  • Main:

    • 500g Beef Ribeye or Sirloin (thinly sliced)
    • 1/2 Onion, sliced
    • 1 Green Onion, chopped
    • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds (garnish)
  • Marinade Sauce:

    • 4 tbsp Soy Sauce
    • 2 tbsp Sugar (or Brown Sugar)
    • 1 tbsp Minced Garlic
    • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
    • 1 pinch Black Pepper
    • 2 tbsp Grated Pear (Optional, makes the meat tender)

Instructions

  1. Make the Marinade: In a large bowl, mix all the marinade ingredients (Soy sauce, sugar, garlic, sesame oil, pepper, and pear).
  2. Marinate the Beef: Add the sliced beef and onions to the bowl. Mix well by hand to ensure every piece is coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (overnight is best).
  3. Cook: Heat a skillet or grill pan over high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned and caramelized. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  4. Serve: Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve with steamed rice and kimchi!
